Hmmm reach out to people on the internet, or go to concerts of your favourite bands, go to the London Expo for comic books :D And there you will meet many people with the same interests as you!

If you come close to him or her and they pull away then thats a tale tale sign that they don’t like you, if every time you try to look them in the eye they look away and don’t hold your gaze then they aren’t interested, or are really shy. If they copy most of the movements you do then they like you. Simple stuff like that. Just turn towards him and her and lean in and GOOD LUCK!
